Cards for Kate Card Drive

Hay everyone. I don't have a new card for you tonight but I do have a really great cause to share with you. I was checking out Dawn McVey's blog today and I ran across this amazing card drive for a sweet little girl named Kate. Dawn was sharing the info on this drive with her readers. She heard about it from the talented Jennifer McGuire who is putting together this whole thing.
Jennifer put together this card drive for Kate and her family to encourage them and help them through this incredibly difficult time.
Here is some info about Kate:
About 6 weeks ago the life of the McRae family changed forever when their precious 5 year old daughter, Kate, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer. Dad (Aaron) is a pastor in Arizona and he and his wife, Holly have two other children, Will and Olivia. Of course this is devastating for the whole family and many are praying for them. (Go to http://www.prayforkate.com/ to learn more about this family and their struggle). Kate has a rough road ahead of her for quite awhile. When you hear their story you will want to do anything you can to help.

I know we all love to make cards that brighten peoples day and that's just what this drive is going to do. You can make a card for anyone in the McRae family: Kate (Age 5) the little girl that is battling cancer, her little brother Will, her big sister Olivia, her Mom & Dad (Aaron & Holly) or the entire family.

Jennifer is requesting that all the cards be sent to her. She is also requesting that the cards be to her by October 1st so that she can collect them and send them to the McRae family. Check out Jennifer's blog here to get all the details.

Mojo Monday Week 101

Hay girls! I'm back today with card for the Mojo Monday Challenge. I was really happy to get a chance to make this card today. I had a really hectic day at work today so I really needed a chance to unwind and relax. And what better way to do that then do some crafting.

When I first started scarppin' I never really believed people when they told me that they crafted to relax and destress. I always over analyzed everything to do with scarppin'. I would stress out every detail. Then I learned to just relax and have fun. Now it is one of my favorite way to unwind after a long day.

Here is the Mojo sketch for this week. I really like doing these challenges. They make me step outside of my comfort zone and make layouts that I would normally think to use.

Now on to my take of the sketch. I got to break out my new Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday paper crafting kit that I bought a week or so ago from Two Peas. When I saw it at Two Peas I liked it but didn't love it. I am so glad that I decided to buy it. Because when I finally saw in real life I loved it!

Sweet Baby

The card I have for you today is a baby shower card that I made for my friend Nikki's shower. I scarp lifted the design for this card from one of Kristina Werners Finally Friday posts. If you haven't already heard of her you definitely have to go check her blog out. And if you have heard of her, then still go check her blog out. Her stuff is super cute and she makes some awesome things!

I was running way behind on making this card. I slacked and didn't make it until the morning of the shower. Can you say SLACKER! Yes I am. Sorry for the crap pictures. Since I was in a hurry to make this card and get some things done before I left for the shower I didn't set up my normal picture setup. But I must say my freshly painted scrap room walls in Honeydew do go really well with the colors of the card...surprisingly. I don't think I would have thought to put that color with the colors on the card...maybe next time.

Speaking of my freshly painted scrap room I am planning on doing a video or maybe just a post with tons of pictures of my newly redone room. What do you think I should do? Video or loads of pics?

I was really happy with how this card came out. It was perfect for a new baby boy. Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by!

New Scrapbook Storage

I finally put up my new scrapbook storage items I got from Ikea a few weeks ago. It is actually meant to be kitchen storage but who says it can't be scrapbook storage? And the best part is it was really inexpensive. I got all of it for $14 plus tax. Each piece was only $1.99. Super cheap! And we all could use cheap things when it comes to scrappin.

It started out as a way to store all my punches. I did have them in some Creative Memories cases but that wasn't really working for me. See I am a visual scrapper. If I can't see it I probably won't remember that I have it...then I don't end up using it. So I decided that I needed to find a new way to store my punches.

I went to Ikea when I was in Orlando on vacation for my boyfriends birthday. When I was there I saw these rails and immediately I knew what I could use them for. Punch storage!
So glad they are finally up. I love them!
Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Miracle!!!

I am so happy! I finally got my replacement laptop! After over a month of going back and forth with Dell I got my replacement laptop!

After getting two other replacement laptops that were incorrect. What was so hard for Dell to understand that they had to send me an exact replica or better. Guess that was really hard to understand.

I am so happy. It has been the worst being without a computer. I went from having a crappy desk top...to having an amazing laptop...then it decided to die on me. Only a couple months after purchasing it.

Ok enough complaining and go on and on. This means that I am back in business!!! So hopefully I keep up with this blogging thing. Keep your fingers crossed. I am going to get better at blogging.

So sit back and enjoy the blogging ride!
